Based in central London, Maia Publishing Services offers a range of publishing business consultancy services, focussed particularly on the needs of smaller and medium-sized book publishing companies, while occasionally undertaking specific tasks for larger firms on a one-off basis. Maia also maintains long-term relationships with companies as diverse as Laurence King Publishing, Profile Books and William Reed Business Media in the UK and Pearson Italia, Il Saggiatore Group and Messaggerie Italiane Gruppo in Italy.

In addition, Maia is sometimes able to provide introductions to appropriately-skilled consultants working in specialised areas.
